Erin McCormick is a Partner at Madigan & Lewis, LLP.
Ms. McCormick has dedicated her entire legal career to advocating for clients in complex family law matters. She has a wealth of experience in dissolution, post-dissolution, and parentage matters, as well as pre-marital and post-marital agreements. Ms. McCormick’s areas of expertise include complex and high-conflict child custody and visitation issues, child and spousal support, as well as property characterization and division. Ms. McCormick also represents children as Minor’s Counsel in custody proceedings where she advocates for and represents the best interest of the minor child.
Background
Ms. McCormick earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Idaho and her Juris Doctor from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly known as University of California, Hastings College of the Law). While in law school, Ms. McCormick worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Monica F. Wiley in the family law division of the San Francisco Superior Court. She also served as an editor for the Hastings Women’s Law Journal and published an academic article on strengthening California’s HIV Transmission Law.
Recognition
Ms. McCormick has been named a Super Lawyer Northern California Rising Star for five years in a row (2019-2023). This is a select award given to the top 2.5% of attorneys under 40 or in practice for less than 10 years.
